Lead Person- Cast Products

This position is for NIGHT SHIFT 7pm to 7am

Consider joining the Pennex family as a Lead Person Cast Products at our Wellsville PA location. The Lead Person Cast Products assists in the supervision and coordinating of activities of workers engaged in setting up and operating casting furnace and peripheral equipment by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reads work orders to determine type and size of aluminum logs to be cast.
• Initiates changes in timing of casting cycle.
• Supervises operation of melting furnace cast pit saws and homogenizers.
• Adjusts thermostats to control temperatures of molten metal.
• Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
• Interprets specifications and job orders to workers and assigns duties.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods equipment performance and quality of product.
• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
• Performs activities of workers supervised.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Experience

• 3 or more years of related experience
• Supervises crew of 4 to 6 employees in the Remelt Department

Other Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Must possess a valid forklift operators license and have prior forklift experience
• Must be able to operate overhead crane
• Must complete molten metal training
• Regular attendance required
• Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
• Must be eligible to work in the United States visa sponsorships are not available

• The employee is regularly required to stand
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision and depth perception.

Work Environment

• The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and explosives.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
