ABOUT MediaMKRS

ABOUT THE TRAINING
In partnership with United Scenic Artists Local USA 829 IATSE Reel Works is hosting an intensive training program to prepare New Yorkers with the essential skills needed to start a career working in the film and television industry as an Art or Costume Department Coordinator.
This course will cover how to:
- Support and coordination of all aspects of the Art and Costume from development through production wrap
- Assist Art and Costume team in tracking project vendors talent assets and workflows
- Support Art or Costume team to facilitate close collaboration between with other production and studio departments
- Track and facilitate communications between Art /Costume team and vendors crew internal teams and external teams to facilitate circulation of information
- Assist in tracking schedules keeping relevant parties informed of status
- Basic knowledge of cashet and other cloud-based software
ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST:
- Be at least 21 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
- Be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Proof of residency in New York Tri-State
- Be a New York Tri-State Resident (NY NJ CT) within 50-mile radius of Columbus Circle (2 hours max)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficient computer skills including but not limited to spreadsheets word processing and photo layout
- A penchant for numbers budgeting and details
- A passion for Art Set Design and Costumes
Additional Requirements:
- Union Members:
-Must be in good standing as a member of Local USA 829
-Must be fairly new to coordinating with 3 or fewer jobs which may include work in live performances film and tv productions - NON-Union Members:
Some exposure to the Art OR Costume Department in the form of Art Production Assistant (PA) OR Costume PA experience in tv film theater or other live performances Architecture Art History OR Fashion History type courses at school or college
