Accounting Paraprofessional/Full Charge Bookkeeper

Our client is a rapidly growing fractional accounting organization led by construction-industry and finance professionals with 50 years of combined experience. Their expertise spans public accounting CFO duties and consulting offering clients customized financial solutions and high-level stewardship. With a strong referral-based growth model we help business owners in the construction industry grow and optimize their financial operations providing access to a network of additional services such as banking bonding CPA and insurance. This is a full-time hourly position based at our clients headquarters in Jacksonville. The work environment is casual with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Medical benefits are offered.
What Youll Be Doing:
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping and operational accounting for multiple clients.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable including invoice generation processing and verification.
- Perform payroll reconciliations.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in period-end closing processes.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for routine client inquiries and provide timely professional support.
- Support client onboarding including initial setup clean-up of prior records and catch-up accounting and bookkeeping tasks.
- Identify communicate and proactively address potential accounting or operational issues.
What Were Looking For:
- Prior experience in accounting or bookkeeping ideally in the construction industry with a solid understanding of the full accounting cycle.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and time management skills with a focus on accuracy efficiency and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts track open items and take ownership of responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills and a client-service mindset with the ability to gather information and deliver timely accurate financial reporting.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook Word and Excel; experience with construction-specific accounting software (e.g. Sage 100 Contractor JD Edwards Jonas; non-QuickBooks) preferred.
- Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new cloud-based tools including video conferencing email and spreadsheet applications.
