Job Description
Spotsylvania County Public Schools is seeking an Instructional Coordinator to join the team at Freedom Middle School!Instructional Coordinators support the organization and execution of instructional programs within their location as an adjunct to a teaching assignment.
Essential Functions:
- Assists in developing long- and short-range curriculum goals and objectives.
- Evaluates the curriculum and makes recommendations for program improvements.
- Assists in the preparation of courses of study and curriculum guides.
- Coordinates the schools programs and activities through the principal.
- Assists the principal in creating the instructional master schedule.
- Assists in the planning of school-based professional development activities.
- Assists in the area of classroom management and evaluation of instruction.
- Assists in the placement of practicum students and student teachers.
- Assists in ordering instructional materials.
- Assists in the interpreting of the instructional program to the community.
- Assists with orientation of new professional personnel.
- Implements the Mentor Teacher program at the school level.
- Provides substitute teachers with access to instructional materials lessons plans and classroom assistance when needed.
- Coordinates activities among team leaders and maintains and updates a calendar of events.
- Coordinates schedules and implements the testing program

Education and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Currently possesses -OR- ability to possess a Virginia Collegiate Professional or Postgraduate Professional License within a specific endorsement(s) area
- Five years of successful full-time teaching experience three (3) of which at the secondary level
