GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Facilities Manager is responsible for the comprehensive management and oversight of facility services including Safety Officer responsibilities Environmental Services Utilities Management and Hospital Contracted Services. The Manager ensures regulatory compliance efficient operations and the delivery of a safe secure and high-quality environment across all hospital facilities. This role includes the supervision of facility-related personnel and contracted service providers while also managing vendor relationships and supporting the hospitals strategic and operational goals.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree in business administration preferred.
- Minimum of five years experience in hospital plant operations with EPA Universal HVAC certification or five years experience in a skilled trade (e.g. mechanical plumbing boilers or stationary engineering).
- Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with hospital leadership external agencies medical staff vendors and board members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint).
- Experience with Siemens Automation Systems including Insight and Desigo platforms.
- Proven ability to manage crises and exercise sound judgment under pressure.
- Demonstrated experience in vendor management including hiring and termination of services.
- Understanding of local state and federal building codes and NFPA regulatory requirements.
- Technical expertise in automation control systems and plant power systems.
- Valid DOT certification required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Directing planning coordinating and being administratively and professionally responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of uninterrupted light heat power water and monitoring systems of all the facilities services.
- Ensuring the facilities overall condition and appearance are maintained professionally.
- Overall administrative and professional responsibility for the safe and efficient function and operation of all buildings equipment systems and grounds to include routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Assisting with safety inspections tests and drills as requested.
- Monitoring overall condition of building. Monitor state and local codes DNV and insurance compliance and through periodic and documented inspections.
- Working with other managers ensures continuous compliance with all requirements of regulatory bodies accrediting agencies or insurance providers.
- Preparing and maintaining records and reports.
- Allocating work to employees in the department and ensuring assignments are carried out according to a timely schedule.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Exposure to blood and body fluids communicable diseases chemicals radiation and repetitive motions
- Pushing and pulling heavy objects
- Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients
- Must be able to lift and/or carry over 25 pounds on a regular basis and be able to push/pull over 25 pounds on a regular basis.
- Must be able to stand and/or walk at least five hours per day.
Occupational Exposure
Category III: Tasks do not routinely involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens; however this position may require the performance of unplanned tasks where exposure is possible. This role may also involve exposure to chemical hazards.
