Overview:

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) invites applications for the position of Assistant Vice Chancellor (AP25-058) within the Division of Enrollment Management. This senior leadership role is pivotal in advancing the Universitys mission to support student transition persistence and academic success.

Reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management the Assistant Vice Chancellor (AVC) provides visionary leadership and operational oversight of a portfolio of student success-focused units. These include Summer Success/Cougar Prep First-Year and Transitional Advising Learning Support Services and Academic Testing.

The AVC plays a critical role in shaping and executing strategic initiatives aimed at improving student retention progression and degree completion. Additionally the AVC serves as a key collaborator across campus fostering partnerships that align with SIUEs goals for student enrollment and achievement.

What You Will Do:
  • Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management for units dedicated to student transition and success.

  • Oversee the implementation of evidence-based programs and services to improve student retention persistence and graduation rates.

  • Collaborate closely with University stakeholdersincluding academic affairs student affairs and faculty leadershipto design and assess integrated support strategies.

  • Assist the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management in divisional strategic planning assessment and execution of enrollment initiatives.

  • Serve as a secondary leader in the division representing the VCEM in meetings and initiatives as needed.

  • Utilize data and analytics to inform decision-making identify trends and implement improvements in student support services.

  • Lead the development and assessment of student success metrics and key performance indicators.

  • Ensure alignment of departmental goals with institutional priorities accreditation requirements and national best practices.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
Masters degree with at least seven years of progressively responsible experience in enrollment management areas of which at least three years must be at the senior level (VP or AVP or equivalent service level); experience supervising multiple layers of an organization and the processes involved in strategically planning and evaluating goals/objectives; strong verbal and written communication skills; fiscal management experience; proven problem solving and organizational skills along with the ability to allocate and evaluate tasks related to complex projects and function affectively in a high volume highly dynamic environment; and familiarity with CRM ERP and success-based higher education software.

Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree with at least five years of experience in enrollment management areas (at least three years at the senior level as a VP or AVP). Understanding of public higher education models for enrollment and student success; ability to prioritize competing requests and priorities; work with retention or advising efforts as they relate to overall enrollment strategy; experience with purchasing onboarding or maintaining enrollment-related technology; experience working across a complex organizational structure in higher education; and ability to lead institutional collaboration as it relates to enrollment and student success.

Additional Information:This position does not offer work authorization sponsorship. International students at SIUE on F-1 or J-1 visas are not eligible for full-time or part-time civil service positions with permanent status. F-1 and J-1 visa holders must be enrolled full-time and can only apply for temporary part-time roles working 20 hours or less per week during spring and fall semesters such as student worker positions assistantships and civil service extra help roles. SIUE is a state university and its important to highlight that benefits from state-sponsored plans may not be accessible to individuals on F1 or J1 visas.
