What Youll Do
The Vulnerability Assessment (VA) Analyst/Modeler must be able to communicate effectively with mid-level personnel of both contractor and Federal organizations use a variety of security analysis tools to complete all work to standards that cannot be challenged successfully by the VA Manager and/or VA Senior Security Specialists. The Analyst/Modeler serves as both a Vulnerability Assessment (VA) analyst and a computer simulation modeler. As a Analyst/Modeler the incumbent analyzes the site response to security threats using computer models to evaluate pathways computer simulations to predict combat response and numerous specialized modeling packages. The Analyst/Modeler provides data derived from modeling simulations that assist in determining the effectiveness of security barriers systems response plans and engagement tactics. As a computer analyst/modeler the incumbent develops evaluates and operates software needed to perform explosive modeling pathway analysis and combat simulation. The Analyst/Modeler conducts explosive analyses of the Y-12 site which includesmodeling in various software packages to examine exterior and interior characteristics of the facilities under various explosive threats. Analyst/Modeler conducts modeling and simulation to test the effectiveness of Protective Force command and control tactics and deployment strategies. Analyst/Modeler performs analytical duties in support of the Y-12 daily security operations and may be requested to brief senior leadership and/or YFO oversight officials.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
- OR Masters degree: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
Preferred Job Requirements
- Degree in Engineering or Computer Science is preferred
- Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD or similar software
- The successful individual will be familiar with relevant DOE policy requirements for performance and compliance based protection strategies
- Knowledge of Consolidated Nuclear Security (CNS) DOE policies and procedures is desired
- Effective verbal and written communication experience are required for reports letters and other correspondence
- Position will require completion of the DOE National Training Center VA curriculum as classes are offered

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
