RESEARCH & VALUE ADDITION
Cultivar development : Hybrid Advancements Line development programs
Germplasm resource maintenance management and enhancement
Enhance Breeding program techniques and improve time to deliver using new age technologies
Design future breeding pipelines for competitive products with tolerance to abiotic and biotic stresses
INFRASTRUCTURE & PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Infrastructure up-gradation to develop long-term competitive edge (MAS Mutation breeding etc)
Development of R&D budget tracking and monitoring progress against the goals.
Seed breeding research projects management to ensure that they are meeting deadlines and milestones
throughout their marketplace
Design and oversee all aspects of plant breeding programs from fieldwork to data analysis.
NETWORKING & LINKAGES
Develop and grow institutional relationships in India and abroad to access new genetics and technologies.
Coordinate with and contribute to the marketing programs to align Research needs with evolving customer
needs.
Collaborate with Regulatory departments for compliance
TRAINING & QUALITY
Training Associates (Lab Plant Field) to ensure end-to-end quality of seeds
Collaborate with Quality department for design and review of traceability of quality
Skills Competencies Knowledge & Desired Experiences
The candidate should possess experience in Seed Breeding and must have hands-on experience of one or
more crops like Paddy Wheat Maize Mustard Millets Pulses Forages Gourds Tomato Chilly etc.
Proven track in running frugal Line development & commercial breeding programs.
Working Knowledge of different modules of Plant breeding from experimental design research
methodologies statistical and inferential analysis and trialing software
Direct hands-on driving experience of breeding program management from crossing to product launch
Proven track record in developing new techniques practices & developing new strains of High Value crops
resulting in productivity and resilience of crops.
Ability to create accountability and lead by example as well as proven managerial experience and
interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.
To stay up-to-date on the developments to keep skills relevant and maintain a competitive advantage at the
workplace.
Willingness to travel is a must.
