You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailAt Houston Methodist the Supervisor Public Safety/Security position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day Public Safety/Security department operations and emergent activities of staff that provide safety and security for staff patients and visitors of Houston Methodist. This position supervises daily shift activities including reviewing staffing levels to ensure compliance with facilities coverage. In addition the Supervisor Public Safety/Security position serves as the next higher level of reporting for department customers regularly inspects on-site and off-site posts and facilities investigates incidents and/or customer complaints and compiles data for accurate reporting. This position is the subject matter expert for normal department operations acts as management in the absence of manager or director. Other duties for the Supervisor Public Safety/Security position include but are not limited to performance improvement activities directing and managing staff during normal and emergency operations and actively participates as a member of department management to achieve operational goals.
The supervisor position responsibilities include overseeing the daily work activities of the work unit/department staff ensuring quality productivity functional excellence and efficiency. This position trains and supervises staff while maintaining adequate staffing levels and budget compliance. The supervisor position contributes to staffing decisions such as hiring coaching and counseling employees on work related performance. This position assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure a safe and effective work environment. Other duties for the supervisor position include participating in performance improvement activities as well as providing support for department management to achieve operational goals. This position may also perform staff duties and responsibilities as needed.
