Job Responsibilities:
The Citadel invites internal applications for the position of Deputy Assistant Commandant for Discipline (DACD) in the Commandants Department working directly under the Assistant Commandant for Discipline (ACD). The Discipline system operates under the College Regulations and the Blue and White Books that provides specific policy guidance for members of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets. This position requires the employee to make tough decisions in a fast paced and complex operational environment. The individual serves as a senior staff officer in the Commandants Department. The candidate will be responsible for the development standardization implementation and execution of policy for the Discipline program for the Corps of Cadets. The DACD closely coordinates monitors evaluates and reports all discipline activities to the Assistant Commandant for Discipline. Employee must become proficient with the Cadet Accountability System (CAS) while seeking creative ways to improve the platform. The candidate must set and enforce Citadel standards of conduct. The candidate serves as a role model providing coaching and mentorship to cadet leaders within the Corps of Cadets Americas future leaders.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelors degree with at least three (3) years of experience working in secondary or post-secondary education. Must be able to operate independently and work well in advance of future requirements. Must have the ability to relate to/communicate with college age students in a military environment and their parents.
Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as required and in the context of a traditional military atmosphere perform other duties as may be assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in an education or leadership related field. Present a high level of military appearance and possess a level of physical fitness and conditioning that allows participation with cadets during physical training.
