As a Drug and Alcohol Treatment Specialist 2 you will provide casework and counseling services involving the care treatment and rehabilitation of substance-abusing and dependent inmates patients or residents. You will oversee and facilitate programming in therapeutic communities and outpatient programs. The therapeutic community programs will include a morning and evening meeting three group meetings per day and other weekly meetings. You can expect to promote positive cognitive and behavioral changes within the community participants to enhance their chances for successful re-entry into their communities. You will also provide one-on-one counseling and support to inmates. Additional duties include developing and maintaining case history files developing initial treatment plans and coordinating with social service agencies hospitals clinics courts and community resources to provide inmates with various resources.
