2025-2026 School Year: LTS ESL Teacher

We areaccepting applications foraLong-Term Substitute ESL Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This position will begin on or about August 14 2025 and last approximately 3 to 4 months.

An SLCS teacher is responsible for planning instruction activities and assessments based on the SLCS curriculum. Teachers are tasked with creating an integrated instructional program that supports an inclusion-based learning approach fostering a safe environment that respects academic and cultural diversity. Additionally teachers are expected to work together with other teaching and support professionals in a collaborative manner to provide teaching strategies and methods that address a wide range of learning styles individual needs interests abilities and maturity levels of students.

Among other things theESL Teacher is responsible for:

• Assisting with the identification of potential ESL students.
• Working collaboratively with classroom teachers to develop and implement developmentally appropriate ESL instruction and activities that integrate support and expand the SLCS and implementing appropriate instructional programs to meet the needs of students in the ESL program.
• Assisting ESL students with gaining an understanding of the American culture and helping students gain an understanding and respect for other cultures.
• Modeling appropriate grammar usage and communication skills.
• Encouraging and allowing students to practice and utilize acquired ESL skills to create projects that connect to the curriculum and other real world scenerios.
• Providing modified assignments and strategies to meet individual student needs.
• Utilizing a variety of teaching strategies to enhance instruction and engage students in activities that promote the understanding of ESL.
• Evaluating student performance and sharing information with the classroom teacher support teachers and administration.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Education or related field
• Appropriate Pennsylvania Department of Education Certification
• For IB campus positions:Prior experience with International Baccalaureate MYP or DP programmes a plus
• Understanding and commitment to inclusive learning
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
• Strong research planning and organizational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to positively interact with students to encourage development
• Experience with MS Office Google Docs

Applicants who do not yet have their PA teaching certificate may upload the official College Verification of Eligibility Letter which states you have successfully completed the program and are eligible for certification in lieu of the PA teaching certification document.
