What Youll Do
- Assigns work and tasks to subordinates by specifying task parameters i.e. quality quantity resources and expected completion time.
- Accountable for all aided-direct-output and delegated-direct-output of subordinates.
- Responsible for ensuring proper alignment of subordinate roles through personal effectiveness appraisals and the effective delegation of work through the supervision and evaluation of proposed role changes that will facilitate accomplishment of assigned work.
- Provides performance accounting and feedback.
- Responsible for the development of individuals in role to ensure technical competence and a thorough understanding of safety quality and security aspects of the job by formulating tasks that are within an appropriate range of complexity.
- Responsible for developing plans to achieve tasks and goals and adhering to these plans in establishing the limits within which the subordinates tasks must be accomplished.
- Responsible for ensuring an adequate talent pool base among subordinates and evaluating/developing the capabilities of individuals.
- Reviews procedures and methods involving interpretation of regulations processes procedures and specifications in order to furnish guidance to subordinate managers and assigned personnel on accomplishment of assigned mission requirements.
- Makes decisions or recommends to his/her manager required actions to be taken based on task assigning role relationships.
- Responsible for conducting special studies and providing timely accurate reports based on this analysis.
- May perform the duties as Program Manager (Department Manager) during their absence.
- May act as assistant to the Program Manager (Department Manager) in planning staffing facility and support organization coordination.
- Provides daily planning and coordination as Operations Managers within their program or area of responsibility.
- May act as Training Coordinator within their program or area of responsibility.
- Coordinates meetings and/or training requirements and schedules training for subordinates.
- Accountable for all direct output assigned and for providing direct output support to his/her manager.
- Responsible for maintaining a thorough knowledge of applicable Federal State DOE Corporate and Plant rules regulations and Plant-wide operating policies and procedures.
- Responsible for application of established personnel and operating policies and programs including Union Agreements employee concerns discipline processes and safety health and security standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Required to attend and/or successfully complete training classes as determined by the Training and Development Technologies Department through General Employee Training (Reference DOE Order 426.2) and Management.
- Facilitates and supports all plant safety initiatives and provides instruction in safety awareness and provides training while resolving issues and concerns within the organization.
- Ensures that a feedback loop is maintained to communicate answers to issues concerns and lessons learned in accordance with Integrated Safety Management (ISM) principals.
- Ensures worker involvement in work planning and determination of hazards and control in accordance with ISM principals.
- Respects a workers right to stop work when they feel their personal safety is jeopardized and take responsibility to resolve the concern in a timely manner.
- Attends and or conducts required safety meetings and training.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree in nursing (BSN): Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree in nursing and at least five years of relevant experience in managing processes programs and/or people
- Masters degree preferred
- Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills verbal and written communications skills and ability to interface with physicians providers nurses nurse case managers line management and employees; must have excellent organizational skills quality management or the equivalent/offsetting education and/or experience
- Working knowledge of Pantex Occupational Health Services clinical processes is a plus.
