As a Manager for Design Services in Fleet Remediation Engineering team you will lead and develop our BIM design team while implementing and maintaining BIM standards workflows and best practices across projects in the Americas region. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong leadership abilities to drive excellence in Building Information Modeling delivery.
Job Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development:
Manage mentor and develop a team of BIM designers/modelers
Hire employees that demonstrate Amazon Leadership Principles
Manage team and individual performance including promotions
Make trade-offs on competing business needs using high judgement
Identify areas of growth for the team. Identifying resource requirements and gaps. Establishing a clear growth plan and development strategy for each team member.
Drive strategic communication provides a technical strategy with limited guidance within their assigned Region.
Find a path forward in difficult situations. Handle escalations.
Make trade-offs: short-term team needs and long-term business needs. Knows how to scope a project. Is able to discern which features are essential can be triaged or omitted.
Technical Management:
Develop and maintain BIM execution plans and protocols
Establish and enforce BIM standards and quality control procedures
Oversee model development coordination and validation processes
Ensure compliance with project requirements and deliverables
Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions
Project Oversight:
Review project BIM requirements and establish delivery strategies
Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of deliverables
Coordinate with project teams and external stakeholders
Manage BIM-related risks and issues
Ensure model accuracy and data integrity
Process Improvement:
Evaluate and optimize BIM workflows and processes
Research and recommend new technologies and tools
Develop templates and content libraries
Document best practices and create training materials
Drive continuous improvement initiatives

Bachelors degree in Architecture Engineering or related field
7 years experience with BIM software (primarily Autodesk Revit)
3 years experience managing BIM teams
Strong knowledge of BIM standards and industry best practices
Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment/design related to data centers.
Proven ability to develop solutions and execute plans for complex projects.
Professional certification (e.g. Autodesk Professional)
Experience with multiple BIM platforms
Knowledge of programming/scripting (e.g. Dynamo)
Experience with cloud collaboration platforms
Understanding of construction methodologies
