WHAT YOULL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Accounts Payable Lead to support our Accounts Payable department. This position is responsible for overseeing payment processes reviewing expense reports managing vendor relations and supporting reconciliation efforts. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of AP-related functions and will work closely with internal departments such as Procurement Operations Treasury and Cost Accounting.
JOB DUTIES:
- Analyze monthly financial performance against forecasts and budget
- Manage weekly Check Run Reports and coordinate with Treasury and internal departments to ensure payment accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform check run reconciliations to validate payments and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare weekly and monthly AP KPI reporting.
- Collaborate with Operations and Procurement teams to resolve any vendor discrepancies.
- Review and manage AP Discrepancy Tracker.
- Prepare and review weekly vendor reconciliations.
- Assist with clearing and processing manual checks.
- Provide guidance and support to AP staff including training mentoring and assist with general inquiries when necessary.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations research and resolve any variances.
- Manage Concur Expense Reporting System including:
- Weekly expense report reviews
- Reconcile Concur Bank JDE
- Prepare Concur accrual journal entries
- Run and analyze the Tolerance Report; work with Cost Accounting to investigate and resolve variances.
- Compare findings with JDE (JD Edwards) data for accuracy and system alignment
- Performs other duties as assigned
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of expense reporting systems ERP systems (e.g. JD Edwards) and (e.g. Concur) and
- Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data reporting. (PowerBI Pivot Tables VLOOKUP etc)
- Effective communicator with a collaborative team-first mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated detail-orientation ability to work quickly accurately and within deadlines
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; or five-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 years of experience in a full cycle Accounts Payable or a related financial role.
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills
- Motivation to develop and maintain internal and external relationships
- Valid Drivers License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent
- Experience working cross-functionally with departments such as Procurement Operations Treasury and Cost Accounting.
- Familiarity with AP audit processes and internal controls.
- Understanding of vendor credit management and variance analysis.
- Experience with year-end 1099 processing.
- JD Edwards experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with frequent interruptions.
- Ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop bend climb kneel crouch reach and twist.
- Lift carry push and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 30 lbs.
- Operate office equipment requires repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time in an upright position walking on both even and uneven surfaces
- Ability to stoop crouch and kneel on a regular basis
HOURS & WORKDAYS:
8:00 PM to 5:00 PM;Monday through Friday before/after hours weekends and holidays may be mandatory based on business needs.
