Job Description
Position- Patient Financial Services Representative
Facility- North Memorial Health - Shared Services
Address- 3300 Oakdale Ave N Robbinsdale MN 55422
Contract- 13 weeks with high possibility of extension
Shift- Days 8 hours
Pay Rate- $32/hr (W2) $34/hr (1099)
The Financial Advocates primary function is to perform a thorough financial screening of patients. The Financial Advocate is also North Memorials primary contact for patient education in areas of insurance benefits levels of coverage and billing and collection processes. Responsibilities include ensuring that all accounts have been cleared for billing obtaining insurance authorization for services securing payment arrangements (including collection of co-payment/coinsurance) prior to patient discharge and for major outpatient services identification of other potential payment sources (including Financial Assistance program initiating/completing the Medical Assistance application process) and providing costs estimates.
Effective organizational skills including ability to prioritize problem solve and resolve conflict.
Excellent communication skills especially when interacting with patients and families.
Advanced knowledge of insurance including government assistance programs.
Must be able to work under considerable stress using tact and diplomacy.
Requirement description :
Education:
Bachelors degree - Strongly Preferred
Experience in customer service especially in front end patient interactions regarding financial processes- Required
Experience in communicating with insurance carriers to obtain authorization for services - Preferred
Spanish or Hmong speaking - Preferred Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
