Job Description
Overview
The SAP ABAP Consultant plays a crucial role in the implementation customization and enhancement of SAP applications within the organization. As a key technical expert the consultant works collaboratively with functional teams to ensure that the SAP environment is optimized for performance and meets business requirements. This role is critical in developing and maintaining efficient and scalable ABAP solutions that support the companys operations. The consultant is responsible for analyzing business needs and translating those into technical specifications writing and testing ABAP code and troubleshooting issues to ensure seamless SAP processes. This position demands a deep understanding of both SAP systems and the specific business processes utilized by the organization. By leveraging advanced ABAP knowledge the consultant contributes to system enhancements and upgrades that drive operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain ABAP programs reports and interfaces.
- Analyze functional requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Implement enhancements using user exits BADIs and enhancement points.
- Design and optimize data dictionary objects including tables and views.
- Create and modify SAP Script and Smart Forms for print layout management.
- Develop custom applications using Module Pool programming.
- Facilitate data migrations via BAPIs and IDocs.
- Conduct performance tuning of ABAP code and applications.
- Implement and manage SAP workflows.
- Utilize debugging tools to resolve issues effectively.
- Collaborate with functional teams during project lifecycle for requirement gathering.
- Prepare technical documentation for developed solutions.
- Assist in the planning and of system upgrades.
- Conduct unit and integration testing to ensure quality of deliverables.
- Provide support for production issues and document resolution processes.
- Stay updated with the latest SAP technologies and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development.
- Strong knowledge of SAP modules such as SD MM and FI.
- Experience with ALV reporting and dynamic programming techniques.
- Proficiency in data migration tools and techniques.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented ABAP programming.
- Experience with various enhancement techniques in SAP ECC.
- Familiarity with SAP HANA and Fiori developments is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience with Agile methodologies preferred.
- Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager is an advantage.
- Certification in SAP ABAP is desirable but not mandatory.
- Experience in performance troubleshooting and code review.
- Willingness to stay current with SAP advancements and technology updates.
