Job Description
5-6 months contract with a local authority
Job Purpose
- The post holder will be responsible for commissioning of large scale temporary accommodation performance manage and assure delivery to scale within agreed time scales whilst ensuring effective service redevelopment pathway redesign as appropriate to meet national and local objectives/outcomes.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
- To lead develop and implement a comprehensive temporary accommodation commissioning strategy that will make a real difference achieving value for money savings and other measurable benefits for vulnerable and homeless people.
- Lead the monitoring of the temporary accommodation commissioning strategy and implementation plans which meet the needs of homeless households in the Borough.
- Review Temporary Accommodation Strategy to ensure the most effective methods of commissioning are utilised and recommend and implement changes as identified in consultation with Assistant Director Housing Demand.
- To lead the procurement of key accommodation contracts and services proposing the most appropriate routes to market.
- Lead the development and oversee the implementation of policy systems TA procurement contracts and internally managed accommodation placement policy and process performance criteria standards governance frameworks and procedures within area of responsibility.
Essential Experience Required
- Experience of the housing needs of homeless people and awareness of the impact on housing provision is essential.
- Previous relevant procurement experience with significant responsibilities for procurement of temporary and settled accommodation for homeless households is essential.
- Experience of generating innovative solutions to complex housing supply market is essential.
Essential Qualification Required
- A degree or equivalent professional qualification or relevant work experience at a senior level is essential.
Additional information to note
- Working hours: 36 hours per week.
- Basic DBS is required for the role.
