Position Overview

We are seeking a GPS Technician to join our team in Porvorim Goa who will be responsible for installing maintaining and troubleshooting GPS tracking devices and taxi/auto meters in various types of vehicles such as cars taxis and auto rickshaws. The ideal candidate should have practical experience in vehicle wiring device installation and basic troubleshooting.

This role is both technical and customer-facing. You will be the face of Securinex for many clients providing not only hands-on installation service but also training and support for our GPS tracking products.

Key Responsibilities

1. GPS Installation in Vehicles

• Install GPS tracking devices in cars taxis and auto-rickshaws according to company standards and vehicle-specific wiring requirements.
  

• Perform relay wiring to enable ignition cut-off engine shutdown or panic button integrations as required.
  

• Secure device placement in discreet yet effective locations to prevent tampering.
  

2. Meter Installation

• Fit and configure taxi meters and auto meters following the guidelines set by regional transport authorities.
  

• Ensure meters are calibrated correctly and comply with local fare standards.
  

3. Technical Troubleshooting

• Diagnose issues when the GPS device or meter fails to function as expected.
  

• Check for power supply issues relay malfunctions network connectivity problems and sensor misreadings.
  

• Replace faulty components update firmware/software and conduct full functionality tests post-troubleshooting.
  

4. Customer Support & Training

• Provide clear courteous guidance to customers about how to use the GPS system and associated mobile or desktop apps.
  

• Offer after-installation support in person or over the phone for problems such as device not showing on map delayed location updates and battery alerts.
  

• Train clients on features like geofencing trip reports history playback speed monitoring etc.
  

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain logs of installations client feedback issue resolutions and materials used.
  

• Report recurring problems or feedback to the technical team to improve product quality.
  

• Submit daily work reports and service checklists as per company policy.
  

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

• Basic Knowledge of Vehicle Wiring: Understanding of 12V systems grounding ignition wires and fuse boxes.
  

• Device Installation: Proven experience installing GPS tracking devices speed governors taxi meters or similar equipment.
  

• Relay Wiring Skills: Ability to wire devices with vehicle relays for ignition control and emergency functions.
  

• Mobile/Software Proficiency: Familiarity with mobile apps dashboards and GPS software to test and demonstrate device output.
  

Soft Skills

• Problem Solving: Ability to quickly diagnose and fix technical issues.
  

• Communication: Comfortable explaining product use and fixes to customers in a clear polite manner.
  

• Teamwork: Can work collaboratively in a field support environment.
  

• Self-Motivation: Capable of managing schedules traveling to client sites and working independently when needed.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior work experience in GPS device installation.
  

• Experience in the automobile electrical industry or working in garages/workshops.
  

• Certification or training in electronics or vehicle diagnostics.

Work Environment

• Location: Based in Porvorim Goa you will be working from our local office and travel to customer locations for installations.
  

• Working Hours: 6 days a week typically from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Overtime may be required in rare emergency installations.
  

• Travel: Frequent travel within Goa for field installations and service calls. Travel allowances and mobile SIM for official communication will be provided.
  

• Support: Access to backend support team for troubleshooting help inventory access and app configuration.
