The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA is looking for a Manager of Technical Platforms to join our Denver/hybrid team.

The Manager or Technical Platforms leads the administration and strategic development of MGMAs core internal business platforms including CRM/ERP (Microsoft Dynamics) M365 Marketing Technology and systems supporting Finance and HR. This position manages a team of platform administrators and business analysts fosters collaboration across departments and ensures technology investments deliver scalable secure and efficient outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in implementing configuring and optimizing SaaS platforms Microsoft technologies proven team leadership and a strong background in platform lifecycle management.

Requirements

Essential Functions

  • Manage and coach a team of platform administrators responsible for internal business platform configuration support and enhancement.
  • Define and evolve technology roadmaps in partnership with stakeholders across departments to align business goals with platform capabilities.
  • Leverage vendor relationships particularly with Microsoft and Microsoft Partners to anticipate and implement beneficial updates features and roadmap items.
  • Identify assess and recommend new tools and platforms in partnership with product and business leaders to support evolving organizational needs.
  • Maintain and optimize break/fix processes and service delivery in coordination with internal IT support and service management frameworks. Lead teams in troubleshooting and resolving system issues ensuring stability and continuous improvement.
  • Support ITIL-based practices such as change incident and problem management ensuring standardized service operations.
  • Create implement and document best practices and procedures for platform support governance and scalability.
  • In partnership with the infrastructure team serve as a subject matter expert and leader for the Microsoft ecosystem including Dynamics CRM Microsoft 365 and Azure-based applications.
  • Provide reporting metrics and insights to leadership to measure and enhance platform performance and team impact.
  • Utilize JIRA and service management platforms to manage team workflow intake requests and monitor performance metrics. In partnership with the infrastructure team improve and evolve the JIRA platform to improve internal observations.
  • Oversee vendor performance participate in vendor selection and manage budget considerations related to platform solutions.
  • Develop and maintain documentation process workflows and user training materials
  • In partnership with Infrastructure and Development teams manage system integrations and ensure smooth data exchanges between platforms.
  • Lead regular training sessions and provide ongoing support to maximize system adoption.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies to enhance business processes.


Supervisory duties


Direct supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; coaching mentoring and providing guidance; planning assigning and directing work; setting goals appraising performance and recognizing achievements; addressing performance or behavioral issues; and resolving employee concerns.


Knowledge skills and abilities

  • Strong experience leading technical teams focused on enterprise platforms and administration.
  • Expertise in implementing configuring and optimizing SaaS platforms.
  • Expertise in Microsoft 365 Microsoft Dynamics CRM and the Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Proven ability to design implement and manage scalable platform support processes.
  • Familiarity with enterprise resource planning and marketing technology platforms.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL frameworks and practical implementation of service management principles.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills; able to translate technical details into business outcomes.
  • Familiarity with JIRA ServiceNow or comparable service management systems.
  • Strong organizational and strategic thinking skills.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships contracts and platform-related budgets.
  • Ability to work effectively across departments in a collaborative and agile environment.
  • Ability to consistently promote support and act in alignment with MGMAs mission vision and values.

Education

  • A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Management Information Systems (MIS) or related field is required.

Experience

  • Seven (7) or more years of experience managing enterprise platforms or technical systems.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience leading technical teams. Direct supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Deep technical expertise in Microsoft Dynamics CRM / Microsoft 365 is required.
  • Experience with platform roadmap planning and execution.
  • Familiarity with healthcare industry or association-based organizations is preferred.
  • Experience using or implementing service management tools like JIRA is required.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.


Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications

  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must have a valid drivers license.

This is a largely sedentary role so employee must be able to remain in a sedentary position while focusing for extended periods of time throughout the workday. Position also requires occasional movement inside the office to access file cabinets printers etc. While performing the duties of this job employee is regularly required to successfully navigate scenarios requiring the following operational abilities:

  • Ability to operate PC/keyboard and other office productivity equipment
  • Ability to position self to traverse/navigate around typical office setting
  • Ability pull/push lift open/close grasp/manipulate transport up to 10 lbs.
