Job Details
Fife Professional Learning Team are looking to recruit two Training Officers who are passionate about improving life chances for all.
Supervised by Education Manager and Professional Learning Coordinator you will undertake activities aimed at promoting workforce planning and development including qualification delivery direct training coaching/mentoring and assessing whilst undertaking associated activities to support delivery of the service action plans. You will support the planning delivery and assessment of two Foundation Apprenticeship Frameworks Children & Young People and Social Services & Healthcare.
You will liaise with the Professional Learning Coordinator and Fife Assessment Centre regarding programme delivery and provide progress information as appropriate. You will work closely with a team of experienced Training Officers to plan deliver and assess qualifications. You will liaise with the wider team including other Council Services SQA and external agencies to enhance the delivery of professional learning opportunities and qualifications.
As a progressive employer we offer the opportunity to work in this role as a blended working arrangement with home working opportunities and occasional office-working as required. While a proportion of the role will be carried out remotely candidates should be able to travel to and attend office school and other locations in Fife as required.
You will primarily work across secondary school settings in Fife supporting the delivery of Foundation Apprenticeship workshops and working directly with candidates to plan and assess their qualification. This will also involve visiting placements to observe candidates in practice.

Qualification Registration and Skill Requirements
You must be educated to SCQF level 7 which includes an HNC or equivalent e.g. HNC Childhood Practice or SVQ 3 Social Service Children and Young People.
An SQA assessor qualification (L&D9di or equivalent) is desirable. If not currently in possession of an assessor qualification training and support will be provided for successful applicants to undertake and gain assessor qualification within 12 months of appointment.
Extensive experience in education (within an early years primary and/or secondary setting) and/or social services and healthcare is essential as well as significant knowledge of Curriculum for
Excellence GIRFEC and other pertinent national and local guidance.
Experience delivering and assessing Foundation Apprenticeships and SVQs is desirable.
You must have an understanding of child development and the skills to deal with pupils learning and social emotional and behavioural needs.
You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to engage positively with others.
You will have the ability to demonstrate tact sensitivity and patience within this role and the ability to offer support while maintaining confidentiality and a professional approach.
You must have organisational skills demonstrate the ability to manage additional responsibilities have extensive team working experience and be able to provide an efficient and effective service.
You should possess IT skills and demonstrate the ability to negotiate and influence.
The postholder will be based at Fife House Glenrothes with a blended working model from home and will be required to work across Fife visiting schools nurseries and healthcare facilities where appropriate.
Before confirming to your appointment you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
