We are seeking a highly organized andProject Coordinatorto join our Major Projects team in Chalk River Ontario. The mission of a Project Coordinator is to work closely with the project manager and provide support to aid in the successful execution of projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide related administrative support to Project Managers Project Teams and Site Superintendents for individually assigned projects.
  • Aid Project Managers in the organization and distribution of project-related documents and drawings from manufacturers suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Perform data system entries such as setting up purchase orders for subcontractors suppliers and manufacturers; inputting change orders and distributing change notices to necessary parties; updating monthly WIP forecast sheets and construction schedules.
  • Set up and maintain project start-up binders.
  • Create log and track all necessary communication and documentation related to assigned projects.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with subcontractors and vendors where required.
  • Document control of all site paperwork.
  • Actively participate in operational meetings such as project delivery meetings staff meetings and project reviews.
  • Participate in project reviews to foster continuous and process improvements within Modern Niagara.
  • Perform additional related duties as required under the direction of the hiring manager.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:

  • 1 years Project Coordination experience within the Construction orMechanicalContracting industry
  • Candidates must hold or qualify for Government Public Works Security Clearance (Reliability Level)
  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management orMechanicalEngineering would be considered an asset
  • Previous working knowledge across project and/or construction management softwares is highly advantageous
  • Completion of additional certifications (e.g. PMP PRINCE II CSM) is considered an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint
  • Previous experience and exposure with project financial management an asset
  • Clear and effective communication skills with the ability to develop long-lasting and sustainable productive working relationships with colleagues subcontractors and additional stakeholders associated with assigned projects.
  • Comfortable working within a deadline-driven fast-paced environment.
  • Resourceful individual with strong problem-solving skills. Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
  • Energetic individual who works effectively within a team but also on their own initiative.
