About the role
As a Backend Engineer on our Billing & Subscriptions team youll build the robust systems that power how customers pay for and manage their clean energy solutions. Youll focus on creating secure scalable backend services that handle billing payments and subscription management across multiple markets.
In this role you will:
- Design and build APIs and backend services for billing payments and subscription management
- Integrate with payment gateways banks and third-party financial services
- Develop automated billing systems invoice generation and subscription lifecycle management
- Create secure scalable systems that handle financial data and transactions
- Build internal tools and services that support our finance operations
- Help scale our payment infrastructure across multiple markets and currencies

What you bring to the team
- Experience with Java (Spring framework preferred)
- Strong understanding of databases and data modeling
- Experience building APIs and backend services
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality well-tested code
- Interest in financial systems and payment processing
Nice to have:
- Experience with financial or payment applications
- Security best practices for financial systems
- Experience at fast-growing companies
- Knowledge of microservices architecture
