Job Title: Cyber Command Vulnerability Management Specialist 3
Location: Hybrid 3 days onsite at 11 MetroTech Center 5th Floor Brooklyn NY 11201 2 days remote
Pay Rate: Up to $68.28/hour (Maximum)
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday 35 hours/week
Normal business hours (excluding mandatory unpaid meal break after 6 hours)

Job Overview:
Cohires is seeking a highly skilled Vulnerability Management Specialist to support OTI Cyber Command in strengthening the Citys cybersecurity defense. The role involves vulnerability analysis risk prioritization and designing Rapid7-based scanning solutions. The position plays a vital role in protecting public safety City operations and revenue-generating services by proactively identifying and mitigating cybersecurity threats.
Key Responsibilities:
Research analyze and brief on Risk CVEs CVSS NVD Mitre and attack vectors
Design and implement Rapid7 scanning infrastructure
Manage and configure vulnerability scans using Rapid7
Conduct deep analysis of vulnerability results and develop mitigation strategies
Present technical briefings to stakeholders on risks and trends
Automate tasks using Python PowerShell and other scripting languages
Create dashboards and reports using Rapid7 Excel and PowerPoint
Travel within NYC if needed
Mandatory Qualifications:
8 years in cybersecurity with strong focus on vulnerability management
In-depth knowledge of CVEs CVSS attack vectors and mitigation strategies
Hands-on experience with Rapid7 design configuration scanning and analysis
Strong scripting skills in Python and PowerShell
Advanced Excel usage: VLOOKUP PivotTables
Proven ability to analyze vulnerabilities and execute remediation
Preferred Skills:
Strong communication skills for oral and written reports
Experience with threat landscape evaluation (TTPs)
Stakeholder engagement and agency communication
Tableau experience for vulnerability reporting
Familiarity with enterprise security tools (firewalls IDS DMZ VPNs)
Cross-platform security knowledge (Windows Linux VMware Cisco IOS iOS/Android)
Experience with NIST CIS and other security frameworks
Certifications such as CISSP GSEC GCIA GCIH CEH CWAPT (preferred)
