We are looking for a Building Electrical Engineer in Training (EIT) in the Atlantic area. As a team member in building electrical projects the EIT will assist to the design of plans and models perform surveys and assist the engineering team in the realization of projects in the commercial industrial institutional and hospital sectors.
You will work in a dynamic environment as part of a team of engineers technicians and drafters on challenging projects. You will evolve within a passionate team in a context where initiative and trust are strongly encouraged.
Main responsibilities
- Assist with proposal preparation and responding to RFPs
- Assist the team in the electrical design of the building such as electrical distribution lighting including AGI32 calculation fire alarm etc.
- Liaise with mechanical team on HVAC system design etc.
- Assist with selection of equipment
- Assist with preparing technical reports
- Assist with preparation of specifications
- Assist in preparing construction cost estimates
- Project planning including design schedule and proposed construction schedules
- Ensure compliance to the quality assurance and control program
- Assist with building assessments for electrical systems.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- Needs to be Engineer in Training (EIT) from a Canadian regulatory body (ex: Engineers Nova Scotia PEO etc.);
- Need to have demonstrable experience in building electrical systems (electrical distribution lighting fire alarm hvac) etc.
- Knowledge of building electrical codes and regulations
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD software
- Knowledge of AGI 32 lighting calculation software (an asset)
- ASP Construction card (an asset)
- Valid Drivers license.
- Proficiency in French (an asset).
