Job Description
SUMMARY
We are looking for a temporary part-time Facility Supervisor starting in mid-June with the possibility of continued employment.
Pay range is $18-$20/hour
Hours are 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM Monday thru Friday
The Facility Supervisor is responsible for performing a variety of tasks including maintaining the cleanliness of the building maintain the ice surface while working and overall supervision of activities in the building while his/her supervisor is not on scene. Occasionally the Facility Supervisor will be required to perform other general maintenance tasks repairs and office related tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Opening building at the start of a shift.
- Closing the building at the end of a shift or end of day.
- Checking building for future task assignments.
- Resurfacing ice and inspection of ice resurfacer.
- Cleaning lobby washrooms office and meeting rooms.
- Cleaning main rink area locker rooms bleachers and benches.
- Cleaning outside the front of the building.
- Record daily/hourly inspections and mechanical readings.
- Cleaning windows.
- Collecting registration fees.
- Maintain locker rooms and key sign-outs writing reports.
- Activate emergency procedures in the event of injury fire blackouts etc.
- Complete accident reports when needed.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
- Preparing rink for special events including setting up meeting rooms removing panes of rink glass putting up decorations.
- Unloading supplies and storing.
- Assist Maintenance Supervisor with special projects.
- Assist in IceLand Special Events i.e. Ice show competitions and hockey tournaments.
- Assist immediate supervisor with special projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid Illinois drivers license. Working knowledge of general maintenance and repair procedures. Ability to learn ice resurfacing procedures.
PSYCHOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS:
Must be able to perform work unsupervised.
Recognize need to seek out assistance/supervision when it is needed.
PHYSIOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS:
Being exposed to different cleaning chemicals and supplies.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS:
Being exposed to cold temperatures when in the rink area.
Being exposed to quick changes in temperature from rink to lobby.
Worker may be exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme heat cold snow and/or rain for short periods of time.
Required to walk on ice with the assistance of safety equipment.
COGNITIVE CONSIDERATIONS:
Worker must be able to follow directions oral and written.
Worker must be able to read and write English.
Worker must be able to add and subtract to count money.
Worker must use good safety awareness and judgement and follow safety protocol.
