Job Purpose:
Our client a dynamic and fast-growing player in the real estate sector is seeking to hire an experienced Human Resource Officer to support and manage the companys HR functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for HR operations employee relations recruitment performance management training and development and HR compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills a good understanding of HR policies and labour laws in Kenya and a hands-on approach to people management in a fast-paced growing organization.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Operations & Administration:
- Manage and maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation (contracts leave appraisals etc.)
- Ensure smooth onboarding and offboarding processes in line with company policy
- Prepare monthly HR reports and maintain the HRMIS system
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition:
- Coordinate and manage end-to-end recruitment processes: job postings shortlisting interviews and onboarding
- Work closely with department heads to understand hiring needs and source qualified talent
- Ensure new hires have a smooth orientation and integration into the organization
Employee Relations & Engagement:
- Promote a positive workplace culture by addressing employee concerns and grievances promptly
- Organize team-building activities and employee engagement initiatives
- Act as the link between management and staff on all HR matters
Performance Management:
- Facilitate performance appraisals and ensure timely reviews
- Track performance indicators and support managers in creating performance improvement plans
- Support staff development and career growth through coaching and feedback
Training & Development:
- Identify training needs through performance appraisals and department feedback
- Organize internal and external training programs
- Monitor training effectiveness and maintain training records
Compliance & Policy Implementation:
- Ensure compliance with Kenyan labour laws and employment regulations
- Review and update HR policies in line with current laws and organizational needs
- Handle disciplinary processes and terminations in line with HR best practices
Key Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management Business Administration or a related field
- At least 3 years of proven experience in a similar HR role preferably in the real estate construction or service industry.
- Strong knowledge of Kenyan Labour Laws and HR best practices
- Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate high levels of integrity
- Proficiency in HRMIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to multitask work under pressure and independently manage HR processes
