We are seeking an experienced and passionate AP Biology Teacher to join our high-performing Science Department. The School

Founded in 2016 this leading international school is nestled at the base of the scenic and historic YuQuan Mountain in the Haidian District of Beijing. The schools spacious campus spans 200000 square meters including over 140000 square meters of green space and offers a tranquil inspiring learning environment.

The school serves students from Kindergarten through Grade 12 combining the strengths of Chinese and Western educational approaches. The curriculum is organized into Elementary (K5) Middle (68) and High School (912) divisions and includes AP and international pathways to support diverse learners.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

• Deliver high-quality AP Biology lessons that stimulate student engagement and achievement

• Prepare students for AP examinations with a focus on conceptual understanding and inquiry-based learning

• Design lessons and assessments aligned with AP standards and the schools broader academic goals

• Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning needs and styles

• Use educational technology and laboratory-based activities to enhance student learning

Curriculum & Assessment

• Contribute to the development and refinement of the AP Biology curriculum

• Integrate interdisciplinary themes and foster critical thinking skills

• Assess student progress regularly through a range of formative and summative tools

• Provide meaningful feedback to students and communicate regularly with parents

Professional Collaboration

• Work closely with science colleagues to promote departmental goals and share best practices

• Participate in regular team meetings curriculum reviews and school-wide initiatives

• Contribute to the school community through co-curricular activities science clubs and events

Classroom & Laboratory Management

• Maintain a safe and well-organized classroom and lab environment

• Ensure that all lab activities adhere to health and safety regulations

• Manage science resources and materials effectively

Candidate Profile

Essential

• Bachelors degree in Biology Science or a closely related field

• Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE QTS US State License or equivalent) not TEFL/TESOL

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant teaching experience ideally including AP Biology

• Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for life sciences and student learning

Desirable

• Experience in international schools or with international curricula

• Familiarity with inquiry-based and interdisciplinary teaching methods

• Proven success in preparing students for external exams and university entry
