Job Description
Our Veterinary Assistants are an integral part of our team and make it possible for us to give our clients and our patients a white-glove experience. Vet assistants are the ones who support our technicians and veterinarians. We need someone who is reliable kind and truly has a passion for what they do.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during appointments surgeries and other medical procedures
- Monitor patients before during and after procedures and record vital signs
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples for testing
- Perform dental cleanings and assist with other procedures as needed
- Clean and maintain medical equipment and exam rooms
- Provide exceptional customer service to our clients
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 1 year of experience as a veterinary assistant or technician preferred but not required
- Knowledge of basic animal care nutrition and behavior
- Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- This position can be highly physical so the ability to lift stoop bend and carry up to 50 pounds is a must.
