Overview
Part-Time 16 hrs/week varied day and evening hours every third weekend and holiday rotation
North 6 is a fast-paced acute care surgical unit specializing incolorectal and bariatric sleeve procedures while also providing expert care for patients with diverse medical diagnoses. Responsibilities
- Contributes toward accomplishment of patients plan of care goals by providing mobility activities as assigned by the nurse.
- Assists patients and their families in learning to safely manage personal care while increasing activity strength and endurance.
- Effectively works with the patient and their interdisciplinary care team reinforcing and promoting therapy/mobility initiatives.
- Effectively communicates changes in patient condition and functional ability to support an expedited change in the patients plan of care and prevention of more serious complications.
- Demonstrates the knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Prior related health care experience preferred
License(s)/Certification(s):
- Valid drivers license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons
- Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire.
- MOAB (will be obtained during training)
Level 3: Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
