A leading regional provider of commercial HVAC plumbing and electrical services is seeking an experienced Business Development Representative to join their Commercial Sales Group on Long Island NY (Farmingdale).
This opening is due to continued growth by the company and it offers an exciting opportunity to drive new business development and strategic sales initiatives across the commercial HVAC plumbing and electrical sectors. The ideal candidate thrives in a results-driven environment has a proven track record of exceeding sales targets and is passionate about delivering exceptional service. This position reports directly to the Commercial Sales Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within the commercial HVAC plumbing and electrical sectors.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue goals and expand the client base.
- Conduct market research and stay informed of industry trends and customer needs.
- Cultivate and maintain strong long-lasting relationships with clients ensuring superior customer service.
- Provide technical guidance to clients assisting them in selecting the most suitable solutions for their projects.
- Prepare and present professional sales proposals negotiate terms and close contracts.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate sales activity records and generate reports as required.
- Monitor competitor activities and adjust strategies accordingly to maintain a competitive edge.
Key Requirements:
- 5 to 10 years of experience in business development with at least some sales experience within the commercial mechanical plumbing or electrical industries.
- Proven success in sales and marketing with a consistent record of exceeding targets.
- Technical knowledge of HVAC plumbing and electrical systems and services.
- Strong client relationship management skills with the ability to build rapport and trust.
- Exceptional presentation negotiation and communication skills.
- Demonstrated strategic planning and business development capabilities.
- Effective problem-solving skills and sound decision-making ability.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet client demands.
- Willingness to travel regularly to client sites networking events and industry functions.
Key Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- Bachelors degree in Business Marketing or a related field is preferred though equivalent experience will be considered.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Knowledge of local market conditions within NY is highly preferred.
- Strong sense of integrity and commitment to customer care.
