Job Description

Description

As the ESPA Team Leader you will provide supervisory support to the Laboratory Manager to ensure optimum achievement of operational targets in the most cost-effective manner consistent with safe operating practices.

Required skills and experience:

  • Team leadership experience
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office specifically Word and Excel.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Degree in chemistry or similar with minimum of 3 years experience in a relevant industrial setting
  • Experience working in a laboratory environmentideally testing fuels and / or materials

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

You will be ensuring that;

  • The daily workload of the section is performed efficiently and effectively in accordance with both approved technical standards and client instructions
  • All technical staff in the section receive appropriate training including basic and induction training of new employees ongoing training of existing staff and training in new developments.

Key activities:

  • Managing the shift pattern to maintain minimum levels of support for engine and fuel testing including providing occasional weekends to cover team absence
  • Responsible for authorising statements of conformity on test reports and ensuring that turnaround targets are met for the reporting of results
  • Ensuring compliance at all times with any local systems rules and procedures including external accreditation (ISO 17025 SABRe Nadcap OHSAS 18001 ISO 14001 ISO 45001 and SafeContractor etc.) set by the Company and/or external certification authorities and ensuring that appropriate quality assurance controls are carried out on a regular basis within the section.
  • Ensuring that all equipment within the section is maintained to acceptable operating and (where appropriate) valid calibration standards.
