Job Description
Overview
Connection has a fantastic opportunity through our Technical Staffing division for a Sr. Project Manager to lead and oversee a large-scale global VMware to Nutanix migration project in the Chicagoland area.
This role will serve as the primary liaison between our partner Connection and our client ensuring a smooth transition of over 15000 VMs globally.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical understanding of VMware and Nutanix platforms proven experience in enterprise-level infrastructure migrations and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary project liaison between the partner Connection and stakeholders
- Oversee and manage all project phases of the VMware to Nutanix migration
- Lead and document project meetings with regular updates to Connection executive leadership
- Monitor migration progress and ensure alignment with project timelines and milestones
- Create and maintain detailed project plans reports and schedules
- Manage billing documentation and reporting across multiple project management tools
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues throughout the migration lifecycle
- Coordinate change management activities and support global teams as needed

Qualifications
- 8 years of Project Management experience ideally in IT infrastructure or data center migration projects
- Strong technical knowledge of VMware and Nutanix environments
- Proven experience managing global-scale migrations or infrastructure transformations
- Familiarity with enterprise PM tools like Planview MS Project JIRA etc.
- Excellent stakeholder communication reporting and executive presentation skills
- Ability to work independently while managing third-party vendors and internal teams
- Located in Illinois with the ability to attend meetings at North Chicago as needed.
