You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailGriffith Universitys Audit and Risk Committee is a committee of the Griffith University Council and is currently seeking an independent member to bring perspective voice and insight to discussions on audit and risk matters. The committee plays a crucial role in providing independent assurance and advice on financial reporting legislative compliance risk management internal controls and audit performance.
As an independent member you will help ensure the Universitys risk and control environment remains robust transparent and forward looking. You will play a vital role in shaping best practice governance in a complex and dynamic higher education environment.

Eligibility
In reviewing expressions of interest to be eligible for appointment as an independent member of the Audit and Risk Committee candidates must meet the following criteria:
Preference will be given to those who live and/or work in the communities in which Griffith University operates.

Expressions of interest for independent membership on the Audit and Risk Committee will be reviewed by a panel. The panel reviews all expressions of interest based on eligibility and the Audit and Risk Committee Constitution. This includes ensuring a balance of necessary skills qualities and experience appreciation of Griffiths functions and values and ensuring a diversity of perspectives and lived experience.
Once the panel have reviewed the expressions of interests they will finalise a short list of nominees for interview. Following interviews the panel will then submit its recommendations to the People Nominations and Remuneration Committee for consideration and recommendation to the University Council who have the authority to approve Audit and Risk Committee member appointments.
As part of the University and the Audit and Risk Committees commitment to integrity and transparency nominees must complete a declaration of interest form before appointment to the committee. In most cases declared conflicts of interest are managed by the Chair but in some cases it may preclude a nominee from being appointed to the committee.
