Job Description
We are seeking aSenior Metrology Specialistto join IQVIA Laboratories inDurham NC.

As a Senior Metrology Specialist you will ensure laboratory equipment and instrumentation are installed maintained and calibrated to meet compliance and operational standards supporting critical research and development initiatives.
What youll be doing:
- Lead installation qualification and validation of new laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- Perform and document preventative maintenance and calibration activities in compliance with SOPs.
- Troubleshoot and coordinate repairs for analytical instruments to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess equipment needs manage vendor relationships and support procurement.
- Maintain accurate lifecycle documentation and inventory of instruments consumables and spare parts.
- Develop and update SOPs preventative maintenance programs and risk assessments.
- Act as a subject matter expert during audits and inspections supporting CAPA and quality initiatives.
- Mentor junior staff and provide training on equipment usage and maintenance procedures.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelors degree in a scientific or technical discipline.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a laboratory environment with hands-on calibration and equipment repair.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Excel.
- Other equivalent combination of education training and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
The knowledge skills and abilities needed for this role:
- Strong understanding of laboratory instrumentation calibration standards and preventative maintenance programs.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering schematics and technical documentation.
- Experience with quality management systems root cause analysis and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication organizational and project management skills.

The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge skills education and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time).
