Job Description

Elementary Special Education TeacherReporting to School Principals and Assistant Special Education DirectorDanvers Public Schools is seeking a skilled and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support students in grades K5. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality individualized instruction to students with a range of learning profiles and disabilities. This educator will work closely with general education staff specialists and families to ensure each student receives the support they need to thrive academically socially and emotionally.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that address students academic behavioral and social-emotional needs
Deliver specially designed instruction in both inclusive and pull-out settings tailored to student goals and learning styles
Collaborate with general education teachers to support differentiated instruction and classroom accommodations
Implement and monitor behavior support plans as appropriate
Conduct progress monitoring and utilize data to inform instructional decisions and update IEP goals
Participate in IEP meetings parent conferences and multidisciplinary team meetings
Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal special education regulations
Communicate regularly with families to share student progress and foster strong school-home partnerships
Support students development of executive functioning self-advocacy and social skills
