Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or higher
- Appropriate MA DESE teacher certification
- Ability to communicate effectively with appropriate age groups and provide excellence in instructional practice.
Reports to the principal: Works cooperatively with other teachers and supervisors with different instructional responsibilities for his/her students within the school setting. Supervise the work of teacher assistants instructional aides interns and student teachers as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Plans and implements high-quality developmentally appropriate lessons for students based on state curriculum standards and the Berkley curriculum.
- Know and follow procedures established for students health safety security and well-being.
- Achieve an in-depth understanding of the physical social intellectual and emotional characteristics of the age group of the students in his/her classroom.
- Help students to develop efficient and effective ways of learning and studying.
- Help students improve their skills understanding and appreciation of writing speaking and listening abilities.
- Establish and maintain a stimulating environment for learning using varied techniques and groups of students as appropriate.
- Help students improve their ability to work with others in classroom and school situations.
- Model the effective use of technology within the classroom setting.
- Help students evaluate their work and grow and learn positively as a result of the evaluation process.
- Develop and maintain effective communication with parents.
