Job Description

Overview

The Service Repair Shop Group Leader is responsible for performing the functions of the Service Repair Shop Instrument Service Engineer while also providing leadership adminstrative and business support at the direction of the Sr. Director Transfusion Instrument Service North America. This includes direct supervision of the Instrument Service Engineers in the Service Repair Shop feedback and coaching on technical/customer interactions and availability to assist with complex issues.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

  • Performs the function of Instrument Service Engineer in the Service Repair Shop as well as well as providing administrative and operational leadership to the Service Repair Shop team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Scheduling staff for weekly project priorities including instrument and module refurbishments parts and instrument returns on campus PM scheduling on campus instrument support and additional projects as they come up
  • Support of critical business systems (SAP TrackWise MasterControl etc) to ensure Repair Shop has access to complete their responsibilities
  • Demonstrates effective leadership to the Service Repair Shop including feedback coaching and performance management as required.
  • Responsible to observe and assess the Service Repair Shop Instrument Service Engineers from a technical perspective; assist management to create improvement plans and execute monitoring
  • Create and revise departmental procedures to ensure processes are up to date and relevant to new and existing tasks
  • Create and implement standardized processes; drive technical and effectiveness initiatives within Repair Shop to meet Instrument refurb forecast demands and other proirities within the organization
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Build strong working relationships across departments including engineering and materials.
  • Maintain a safe working environment following established procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge and Experience required for the position:

Management has the discretion of substituting relevant work experience for a degree and/or making exceptions to the years of experience requirement.

  • Bachelors degree (BS/BA) from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred: 5 years of exemplary Field Service Instrument Repair experience or experience managing a parts repair depot and technicians coordinating work schedule.
