Job Description
The Middleborough Public School District seeks an experienced communicative and inclusive leader committed to furthering student achievement educational equity and belongingness and the provision of a safe and nurturing space to grow and learn. The Middleborough Public School District places a high priority on collaboration innovation and flexibility. We are excited to find a new school leader and member of our leadership team who shares our deep commitment to the school community of Middleborough as a whole. We seek a principal that is culturally instructionally and operationally competent and is able to use these strengths to serve all students and staff in their buildingResponsibilities:1. The Principal will plan organize administer manage and coordinate all education programs of an elementary school. 2. Supervises all professional paraprofessional clerical custodial and other personnel. 3. Promotes and cultivates a school climate that values student voice and designs authentic student learning experiences through effective DEIB practices. 4. Responsible for all aspects within the Middleborough Public Schools Strategy for Continuous District Improvement and HBB School Improvement Plan.5. Assists in the development revision and evaluation of the curriculum consistent with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. 6. Participates and maintains an effective and culturally responsive learning environment among the entire school community. 7. Serves as an instructional leader for the school and drives teaching and learning designed to meet elementary school student needs in order to create continuous improvement and equitable academic and social-emotional outcomes for all students. 8. Supports systems for promoting positive behavior and tiered intervention to meet the academic and social emotional needs of a diverse student body; maintains high expectations and motivation for all students to engage in continuous learning and development. 9. Initiates facilitates designs and implements programs and scheduling to meet student needs.10. Acts as a liaison between the school and the local community encouraging the community to participate in the educational process as part of the overall school life. Develops a program of public relations in order to further the communitys understanding and support of educational programs. 11. Responsible for building and planning professional development programs and the Middleborough Public Schools Professional Development Plan. 12. Oversees the evaluation of teacher performance through the Middleborough Public Schools Educator Evaluation System. 13. Together with central office staff coordinates and supervises support functions such as maintenance security food services recreational and after school/before school programs library activities and financial/budgeting and accounting functions. 14. Serves as the Co-Chairperson of the School Council. 15. Develops and oversees procedures for the continual assessment of student achievement including all aspects of the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS). 16. Work within the framework of policies laws and regulations enacted by localstate and federal authorities.17. Work in conjunction with the principal of the middle school and principal of the early childhood center in the coordination and articulation of transitional programs.18. Performs other such duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools
