The HR Consultant (HRBP) plays a key role in helping Fastly achieve its goal of building high performing teams as a member of the People Partner team. Reporting to the VP Global People Partners and Employee Relations a successful HRBP will lead with empathy when providing guidance to People Managers across all Departments on performance-related questions for our Director-level and below population. They will also assist in the execution of our annual People programs such as promotions and compensation planning and help leaders effectively navigate Fastly policies and processes. This newly created role will support the entire People team and gain global experience in helping leaders solve a variety of challenges across Fastly.
What Youll Do:
Guide People Managers through the resolution of performance issues for our Director-level and below population including education of Fastlys performance process review/edit of required documentation management of probationary periods (in relevant jurisdictions) and preparation for termination
Coach People Managers on effectively navigating difficult conversations including assistance with talking points proactively anticipating employee questions and role-playing
Help resolve issues that may arise in the workplace between employees and managers
Collaborate closely with Global People Partners to understand business needs/trends and as needed with the Director of International People Operations on implementation of international policies people processes and procedures to align with business needs.
Manage flexible working requests across regions collaborating with managers and employees to ensure fair compliant and smooth processes.
Assist with the execution of Center of Excellence (COE) programs such as annual performance cycle (reviews calibration promotions) compensation planning and ongoing talent management initiatives
Proactively build relationships with people managers
Respond thoughtfully to questions regarding HR policy and processes using creative problem solving when an employee and/or manager request is outside Fastly policy or process
Use data to proactively identify themes and escalate opportunities for improvement
What Were Looking For:
A minimum of 8 years HR Generalist experience with hands-on experience in performance management HR operations compensation & benefits and international employment law
Prior experience working across multiple countries and jurisdictions within EMEA and APJ including but not limited to the UK France Spain Sweden Germany Singapore Australia and Japan
Some familiarity with with local labor laws and employment regulations in international markets listed above
Proven experience building rapport and being a consultative partner with middle management and first-time managers
Outstanding interpersonal skills with a client-first mindset
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced geographically diverse environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Prior experience of working for a US-based tech company and working with US based managers
Well be super impressed if you have experience in:
Employee relations including leading investigations
Experience using Workday at your HRiS
Work Hours: This position will require you to be available during core business hours.
Work Location(s) & Travel Requirements:
This position is based in our London UK office location.
Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home with the expectation here of 2 days a week in the office.
This position will require occasional travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.
Salary:
The estimated salary range for this position is 78000 to 95000
Starting salary may vary based on permissible non-discriminatory factors such as experience skills qualifications and location.
This role may be eligible to participate in Fastlys equity and discretionary bonus programs.
