You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWorks under the supervision a Trades/Maintenance Coordinator and with other Facilities Technicians tomaintain and improve the Heating Ventilation Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration systems in the FacilitiesHealthcare Zone buildings. This includes the routine and preventative maintenance repair and upgrade ofHVAC and refrigeration systems BAS control systems and the associated administrative duties such asordering parts setting priorities for service requests training other employees and attending meetings relatedto changes and impacts to the HVAC system. As this is a critical position in the department presence duringall hospital emergencies is expected and required.

Journey-level refrigeration mechanic experience which shows skill installing maintaining and repairing refrigeration equipment and air conditioning systems;OR
Completion of an approved refrigeration mechanic apprenticeship.
Job Related KnowledgeSkills and Abilities(Competencies):
Working conditions may include working outside in inclement weather walking standing bending andstooping for extended periods of time lifting carrying heavy objects crawling in small cramped spacesworking from ladders scaffolds and other above ground locations including high sloping roofs. Workingin extreme temperatures around moving machinery and in confined spaces containing high levels of of noise dust and odors could be expected. There is some risk of exposure to dirt biological chemical andradiological materials or danger of steam or hot water burns electric shock infection or minor injuries thatcould require the use of OSHA approved Personal Protective Equipment.
Normal duties require 40 hours per week. The position does require the ability if the incumbent to be ableto respond to on-call assignments overtime and after hours or emergency call-backs as needed.
