Job Description
Come join the Guilmette Wolfpack!This position is a great way to enter the education field. We collaborate and design personalized schedules to accommodate student teaching hours This Position:The Building Based Educator will help to close the achievement gap by working with small groups individuals and the whole class to ensure that students are receiving appropriate support and necessary accommodations. This individual will report to the Principal and Assistant Principal and will work closely with Teachers Paraprofessionals and other School Staff :The Building Based Educators responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:Provide high-quality coverage for educators when necessary ensuring curriculum and lesson plans are appropriately followed in their absence;Maintain as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned;Teach reinforce and remediate academic content with individual students small groups of students and whole classes of students;Provide support accommodations and individual attention to students;Ensure students are engaged and invested in the classroom managing behavior and providing incentives;Ensure classrooms are appropriately maintained including but not limited to preserving classroom equipment and materials ensuring student work is collected and filed appropriately and more; andComplete other duties as and Characteristics: The Building Based Educator should possess the following skills and attributes:Passionate belief in Lawrence Public Schools;Commitment to the academic and personal success of Lawrence Public Schools students and families;Proven history of successful collaboration;Ability to take initiative and succeed in a fast-paced classroom/ school environment while remaining calm and focused when faced with unexpected challenges; andDemonstrated ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse staff and population.
