This vacancy is open to 2024 graduates from the academic years 2023/24 and 2024/25. To be eligible you must have completed or be due to complete your course between 1 August 2023 and 31 July 2025 and you must no longer be studying.

The full-time starting salary is normally *24814.00 per annum with progression available in post to 26970.00 per annum.

*From 01 August 2025 the salary range for this role is 28287.00 - 31225.00.

On 01 August 2025 Birmingham City University will migrate to a new pay structure at which time the post holders salary will be adjusted to the corresponding point on the new grade.

Full-time 15 month fixed-term role.

The IT Department at Birmingham City University is seeking to appoint a graduate for a 15-month fixed-term position. The successful candidates will have completed a relevant degree at Birmingham City University.

This position will play a crucial role in the delivery of a high-quality customer-focused service. As a member of the Asset and Deployment Services Team you will be responsible for keeping accurate records of our IT assets which include laptops monitors and peripherals. The role is responsible for following processes to ensure the desktop service configuration application streaming and deployment is completed in accordance with agreed business requirements.

The IT Graduate Technician (Asset and Deployment) is responsible for supporting the desktop service refresh programme and the timely deployment of desktop devices to staff students offices and teaching rooms. This includes the issue and return of devices including WEE disposal.

The team has a focus on the delivery of high-quality customer desktop service to ensure all staff and students have access to the IT services required to fulfil their responsibilities. This includes updating the IT Asset Register so that accurate asset records are maintained. Your duties will also include but not be limited to the following:

The appointed candidate will normally be employed through our subsidiary company BCU Support Services Limited a wholly owned subsidiary of Birmingham City University. Appointees with prior LGPS membership who wish to enter the LGPS scheme will be able to do so and will be employed by Birmingham City University directly.
