Job Description

Chelmsford Public Schools - Announcement of Teaching Vacancies for the 2025- 2026 School YearThe Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the following anticipated vacancy. The district reserves the right to change this vacancy or not fill this vacancy based on further staffing changes enrollment or : General Music TeacherLocation: Parker School (1.0 FTE)Reports To: Dr. Christy Whittlesey Fine and Performing Arts Department Coordinator Mr. Josh Blagg Parker School Principal Mr. Mark Souza Parker School Assistant PrincipalGeneral Description: * Demonstrate excellence in facilitating students success in daily grade 5-6 school music classes including students with diverse learning preferences and needs (approximately 24 classes each week).* Collaborate with other teachers to support the schools SEL curriculum* Demonstrate knowledge of instruments music literacy music from a variety of cultures and various genres of music.* Collaborate with school personnel parents and district music staff for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes developing solutions and planning curriculum. * Participate in transition/recruitment activities for music students transitioning between levels.* Assist students in school-based performance opportunities.* Attend annual Curriculum Night and Open House Nights.* Communicate regularly with parent through email phone calls face-to-face meetings and through approved social media.* Ensure that school owned instruments are kept in working order.* Post bi-weekly grades for all students.* Attend all building and department meetings.* Participate in department and building professional development activities.* Adhere to State and National Music Standards in the music classroom.
