Objective
WPS seeks a Grades 6-12 Social Studies/History Curriculum Coordinator to ensure all educators have access to the knowledge skills and resources needed to provide every student with a high-quality culturally and linguistically sustaining and well-rounded education. The coordinator will support educators in delivering an equitable engaging curriculum aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks that fosters critical thinking historical understanding and civic engagement.
Position Overview
The Social Studies/History Curriculum Coordinator is a member of a collaborative 12-person team of Directors and Curriculum Coordinators supporting curriculum instruction and assessment. This position reports directly to the Watertown High School principal and the Assistant Superintendent. This position is responsible for providing high-quality professional learning curricular guidance support training coaching and modeling. The coordinator will work closely with school-based teams teachers administrators and community partners to enhance Social Studies/History instruction and ensure equitable opportunities for all students. The Coordinator must have a strong equity focus a strong belief that all students can and will succeed and that our students opportunities must be limitless.
