The Penn Medicine Virtua Cancer Program is seeking a dynamic leader to be the next Director of Oncology Support Services. The Penn Medicine Virtua Cancer Program offers a variety of services systemwide to care for the physical emotional and spiritual needs throughout cancer treatment and beyond. Programs range from helping manage the side effects of cancer treatment to supporting loved ones through the emotional toll of cancer. Use your skills for program development and innovation while providing operational leadership to a high performing professional team of sixteen. Collaborate with Oncology Service Line Vice President to determine vision strategy and tactical plans for all programs. Position Responsibilities:
The Director of Oncology Support Services plans and directs all aspects of oncology support services that are part of the oncology service line in a large comprehensive community cancer program which sees approximately 3000 analytic and non-analytic cases annually. Responsible for the establishment and management of new oncology programs and the enhancement of existing oncology services. Collaborates with Oncology and Radiation Oncology AVPs physicians leaders professionals marketing team throughout the organization and community. This position shares responsibility for program development in conjunction with quality imaging surgery and clinical oncology services line leaders to ensure objectives outcomes and goals are achieved.
The Director of Oncology reports through the corporate oncology service line directly to the Assistant Vice President of Oncology. The position oversees the following programs and includes the following responsibilities with potential changes/additions:
RN Oncology Nurse Navigation Program
Licensed Clinical Social Worker Program
Robust Cancer/Cardiology Genetics Program
Comprehensive Lung Program that includes RN Nurse Navigation and Data
Managers who facilitate the lung screening and incidental nodule program and well as providing smoking cessation.
Palliativecare/survivorship services
NCCN Distress Screening
Program financials
Development of quality initiatives
Analyzing data to support new growth
The Director position requires deep clinical knowledge to advise on non-medical management of clinical and patient matters and policies. The Director of Oncology Services ensures clinical programs evidenced-based and comply with standards as required by The Joint Commission the American College of Surgeons and other regulatory agencies.
Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:
Minimum 2-5 years in leadership role.
Oncology experienced preferred.
Strong leadership and management skills.
Required Education:
BSN Bachelors Degree.
Masters Degree preferred. Oncology Certified Nurse Preferred.
Training/Certifications/Licensure:
Current NJ RN licensure.
