Visionist has an exciting new opportunity for a Security Engineer. Join the team bringing a prototype large language model (LLM) framework into production for thousands of users. Youll lead security efforts for a premier enterprise-level frontier LLM supporting developers analysts and leadership at a critical defense organization. In this role youll guide the transition of this groundbreaking capability through rigorous compliance and accreditation processes ensuring its secure resilient and ready for deployment across all mission areas and classification levels. As the first production deployment of its kind this effort will face both technical and policy challenges. Your work will be critical in overcoming roadblocks maintaining a strong security posture and earning user and stakeholder trust.

Your contributions are
- Design and evaluate security solutions to ensure compliance with system requirements for handling sensitive information
- Prepare and manage compliance documentation including certification artifacts and coordinate with security personnel throughout the accreditation process
- Propose implement and enforce security policies standards and methodologies for the LLM infrastructure
- Support the development of new security policies where none currently exist ensuring they align with customer needs and mission requirements
Requirements for your new career
- Bachelors degree in a technical discipline
- 15 years of experience in security engineering
- DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 1 or higher
- Experience assisting in the attainment of compliance certification for an application or conducting compliance certification for systems
- Familiarity with AWS infrastructure and services
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Salary range: $175000 - $211000
