Job Description

LIMS Integration Biologist supports the integration of laboratory workflows with our digital infrastructure. This role functions as part of the Scientific Services team and works closely with laboratory staff and software development teams to ensure that scientific practices are accurately and effectively reflected in the digital tools being built.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions

  • Works alongside laboratory scientists to understand and document current experimental workflows.
  • Identifies key steps data inputs and decision points in laboratory procedures with attention to reproducibility and metadata
  • Assists in the design of digital workflows that reflect actual laboratory practice.
  • Reviews and tests digital implementations provide feedback to development teams and ensuring scientific accuracy
  • Supports the implementation of laboratory information management systems (LIMS) electronic notebooks and related platforms.
  • Ensures that data capture is robust well-structured and aligns with broader institutional goals for FAIR (Findability Accessibility Interoperable Reusable) data practices.
  • Serves as a reliable point of contact between scientific and technical staff throughout the development and roll-out of new systems.
  • May perform other duties as assigned

  • Solid background in both computational methods and bench science.
  • Understanding the structure and logic of laboratory experiments document them carefully and assist in translating those procedures into coherent digital workflows.
  • Ability to engage constructively with colleagues across disciplines and to communicate clearly and precisely is essential.

  • Demonstrated experience in wet-lab settings ideally in molecular biology genomics or proteomics.
  • Familiarity with a range of sequencing and other omics technologies including bulk and single-cell RNA-seq ATAC-seq and spatial transcriptomics.
  • Experience working with scientific software databases or workflow management tools.
  • Prior involvement with LIMS or ELN systems is desirable but not required.
  • Careful attention to detail sound judgement and an ability to work independently and collegially.
  • Clear and accurate written and spoken communication.
  • A masters degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience or a bachelors degree with a minimum of 5 years in computational biology bioinformatics or a related field.

Education Required: Bachelors Degree

Education Preferred: Masters Degree/Doctorate Degree

Degree & Specialization Requirements: B.S. in Computer Science or computational science-related field (i.e. bioinformatics physics or mathematics)

Experience Required: 3 years

Experience Preferred: 5 years

Pay Range: $60618 - $78803
