Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego: Database Manager
Department: Development
Reports to: Sr. Director Development
Employee Status: Full-Time Non-exempt
Primary Work Location: La Jolla
Pay Range:$32.69 - $34.13/hour
(This equates to approximately $68000 - $71000 annually for a 40-hour workweek.)

JOB SUMMARY: The Database Manager at MCASD is responsible for the management maintenance and optimization of the Museums CRM database. This individual plays a key role in ensuring that the Museums constituent information and processes are accurately documented organized and accessible for internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented tech-savvy proactive and has a passion for contemporary art.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain data accuracy. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Strong technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot system issues. Proficient in Excel and Word. Proficient in database management software (Altru Raisers Edge etc.). Familiarity with Omatic and/or Xtrulink is preferred. Blackbaud certification preferred. Previous experience working CRM databases ideally in a museum gallery or cultural institution. Bachelors degree and two years recent relevant experience or equivalent education and with museum best practices preferred. Flexible work hours may be required during major museum events or exhibitions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Database Management & Maintenance:
- Daily management of the Museums CRM database ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Regularly update and correct records ensuring compliance with Museum standards and best practices.
- Monitor and resolve any database issues or discrepancies escalating as needed to the Sr. Director Development.
- Proactively enter new records into the database and continually update constituent details.
Database Optimization & Reporting:
- Run reports to assess database performance and data analysis.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure data reporting meets internal and external needs.
- Work with the Development department on proactive fundraising reports.
- Recommend and implement improvements to streamline database processes and enhance usability.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with Museum staff including fundraisers curators registrars and educators to ensure the accurate and timely input of information.
- Respond to data requests from internal stakeholders.
- Provide training and support to Museum staff on best practices for using the database.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
- Serve as a point of contact for database-related technical issues and assist with troubleshooting.
- Ensure system security updates and backups are performed regularly.
