Job Description

The College of Engineering and Technology invites applications for position of Post Doctoral Researcher- Metamaterial Design,.

The successful candidate will lead groundbreaking research in the design, simulation, fabrication, and testing of innovative metamaterial structures. As a key member of our research team, you will work on cutting-edge projects that have applications in various fields, including defense, telecommunications, and aerospace.

  • Design and optimize innovative metamaterial structures for maximum RCS reduction. Investigate different metamaterial topologies and materials to achieve adaptable performance.
  • Utilize electromagnetic simulation tools, such as CST Microwave Studio, Ansys HFSS, and FEKO, to model and analyze the performance of the designed metamaterial. Consider factors like bandwidth, absorption, polarization, and incident angle stability.
  • Design and produce prototypes of metamaterial structures followed by extensive testing to verify their performance in different scenarios.
  • Operate and maintain specialized measurement equipment, ensuring accurate and reliable data collection.
  • Collaborate extensively with researchers from various areas of focus and technology associates in order to merge modules and metamaterials with other structures, thereby guaranteeing smooth operation and compatibility.
  • Analyze and interpret research data, providing valuable insights to the team.
  • Collaborate on the preparation of research papers and grant proposal writing, as well as contributing to technical reports and documentation.
  • Demonstrate awareness of cutting-edge advancements in the field, ensuring the use of state-of-the-art methodologies and technologies.
  • Maintain a well-organized and safe laboratory environment, adhering to research protocols and safety guidelines.

  • Ph.D. in Electromagnetic Engineering, Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Microwave Engineering, or a related discipline with a focus on metamaterial design.
  • Strong background in metamaterial design, simulation, and measurement.
  • Ability to develop and analyze metamaterials utilizing electromagnetic simulation tools and software (e.g., CST Microwave Studio, Ansys HFSS, FEKO).
  • Experience with multi-scale heterogeneous integration methods and materials is advantageous.
  • A proven track record of relevant research projects, publications in reputable journals, and conference presentations in the field of metamaterials design.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, physicists, and material scientists.
